Mentoring

 

Mentoring services are done at an hourly rate. Each session is designed around the needs of the mentee. After the initial meeting we work together to decide how often to meet and what the goals are for each individual.

 

Dr Sabrina Smith

Sabrina Smith, PhD, has been involved in the interpreting field for over 20 years. She is Nationally certified through RID: CI and CT, as well as NIC Master and Ed:K-12. She works as an educational interpreter and has been interpreting in the school system for over 20 years in elementary, middle and high school settings.

Marianne Gutierrez

Marianne Gutierrez has been involved in the interpreting field since 2006. She holds a national certification through RID (2010) and Ed: K-12 (2010) through EIPA with a 4.8 rating. She currently works as an educational interpreter and has been a VRS and freelance interpreter for most of her career. She is, also, the owner of Good Signs Interpreting Agency and one of the co-founders of the PNW BIPOC Interpreter Group.

Yael herbstman, ms

Yael Herbstman has been a nationally certified interpreter since 2010. She, also, has her masters in Interpreting Pedagogy. Currently, she works as an educational interpreter, freelancer, and teaches at a number of colleges.

Cat Ellis

Cat Ellis has been an interpreter since 2009, working mainly in K-12, VRS, higher education, and medical settings. They have achieved the NIC in 2018 as well as a rating of a 4.8 on the EIPA (2019), as well as previous experience mentoring with the state of Washington with educational interpreters through CDHY (2019-2020). Cat is free to take on mentees looking to improve their receptive skills from ASL to English at this time.
